Uppland is a one-of-a-kind Icelandic tour company that specializes in single day excursions to take tourists north of the singular Icelandic highway N1 into the Southern Highlands. This area is only reachable with snorkled super jeeps.
A naming excercise landed us in a multi-lingual name that has meaning in both English and Icelandic. Uppland meaning both “in the interior” in old english and “highlands” in Icelandic resonates simply with both the destination and the essence of moving beyond the normal route. A simple word mark plays with the extra letterform “p” completing the Icelandic form of the word while carrying forward the motif of ascending the rugged Highlands as if riding on Uppland’s big-wheeled super jeeps.
Uppland is a tour with cultural connection, fauna education, local foods and the possibilities of countless stories. This pure travel experience is reflected in the simple Scandi-influenced design that creates clarity, flexibility and distinction.
