The Bends. A film about The Raisins. My first full length documentary was an amazing experience for me to make. Telling a story through the words of four people was more difficult but also more powerful than had imagined. It was a real labor of love making a movie about one of my favorite groups of musicians. It is currently available for rent on Vimeo On Demand. https://thebends.vhx.tv/
Description: After a 39 year hiatus, the legendary Cincinnati rock band, The Raisins got back together for three sellout shows. In this live documentary these accomplished midwestern musicians come face-to-face with the music they made in their mid-twenties, when they miraculously made a living writing and performing original music. A celebration of musical prowess, chemistry and a dedication to originality create the backdrop for dialogue and reflection, as the band members recount the band’s journey, their overwhelmingly passionate fans, and purposefully eclectic music. Intimate revelations and witty storytelling highlight the triumphs and the abundant artistic successes they had despite their lack of widespread national recognition. Features original live performances from The Raisins' reunion show captured at the Woodward Theater, March 2024

University of Cincinnati’s 1819 Innovation Hub needed a way to help businesses and donors better understand the potential housed inside the beautiful innovation space they reside in. Working with The PPS Group, I concepted, scripted, storyboarded and creative directed this piece based on a simple idea: reveal the story of 1819, by projecting the wonders of what's inside onto the building's outside all for the world to see.
The PPS Group brought the idea to life using VFX holograms, projection mapping, FPV drones and motion controlled time lapses. The 30 second spot has run on both Fox and ESPN.

Filmed and edited for the Baker’s Table in Newport Kentucky, this short piece shows in simple visual story telling the story of their brand: farm to table meals cooked with love and care.
Casual Participant is an indie Cincinnati band. This film features them at work in the studio. I thought a lot of Godley & Creme’s work from the 1980s when working on this piece. The long scale tonality of Ther Police’s “Every Breath You Take” in particular.
